Contemporary,
colourful and naturalistic, Buckinghamshire
(£££)
When we first visited this site it was heavily shaded by
conifer hedging on all sides. The hedging was removed and replaced with
bespoke screens painted pale blue to brighten the space whilst
retaining
the owners' privacy.
The dining pavillion had already been installed, so we needed to find a
way to
incorporate this whilst adding decking used for
comfortable seating.
The
diagonals introduced to the design distract attention from the
garden's unusual shape, being much wider than it is long. The ground
level deckboards surrounding the beds add an interesting
feature
edge to the border.
The clients wanted colourful low
maintenance planting, so we chose a naturalistic scheme with lots of
grasses and plants with prolonged flowering. The scheme has
textural interest in the early months of the year and colour throughout
the summer and autumn.
A finishing touch is provided by the inclusion of the steel water wall
which makes an attractive focal point to the garden. |
